Been thinking about a 2007 Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade. Any opinions, good or bad?

i think my mate has a 2006 blade, he loves it, said he sometimes has moments when he thinks hes still on his fazer600 and nearly gets a bike on him if he pulls the throttle on to quick,hes a nutter if you didnt guess, what you on atm? how much of a step up you looking at?

The 2007 is I believe the 2006 model design (sort of pointy one), a very accomplished motorcycle with out doubt and will do most things, a little bland in everyday use to me and the ZX10/GSXR1000/R1 seem a bit more "edgy" but that's personal preference, the underseat exhaust leaves enough room for a credit card if you're lucky and the triangle shaped clocks look dated.

Much as you would expect, within the category it's the more sensible choice, but then if you're going for the thou IL4; is sensible your main concern :smt102

Just my opinion of course, but you did ask....:)

One of the best looking Blades IMHO.

Got shorter gearing (larger rear sprocket I think) than the previous 04/05 which gave it its snap back.

Side by side with the same year daddy GSXR, its a lot bulkier. Big fat tank and taller. Solid look and build, and not as flimsy plastics. Nasty prices for spark plugs, might want to check how much at a dealer/or find out if you can just use regular ones. About the only bad thing I can think of. Great bike...Before all the thou's took a turn for the worse with emission and mapping ********.

Sorting out a nice exhaust (carbon Akra=P~ ) will add a dose of character.

What you really want is one of the older Blades, say the RR2-RR3 versions...

Got a 2003 SVS at present.

I'll give a new exhaust a miss, thanks. Quite happy with the OE one and there's nothing wrong with it. Always like to be understated.

I'm no expert by any means, but i do believe that the 06 Blade was considered to be the best, a guy left after this one and i struggle with english ;) so aint attempting his name :)
