This a nation of animal lovers, right?

Well, we may be, but despite the fact that they have rejected a scheme to appoint state funded lawyers to represent animals, it seems the Swiss are way ahead of us:

See this link here.

What really stands out is that the Swiss had the opportunity to choose, we don't even get the chance to have a referendum on matters that presently seem more important than this.

Sidders, Democracy may not work but it works better than the other systems....what people seem to misunderstand is that our system only works *marginally* better than other systems...which is to say, badly.

We've given democracy enough time tbh, all it's got us is partisan politics where the two main groups are either comically opposite or the same thing underneath the slogans, with nobody truly representing the people

I reckon it's time for a benevolent dictatorship...

Who wants to help me overthrow the government so I can set myself up (PM if you don't want to say on the public forum)

;)

In a nation of increasingly stupid and ill-informed people, the fewer referenda the better in my opinion! Certainly spare us from pathetic animal lawyer cases like this, I'm glad we heard nothing about it.

I'm interested in how benevolent your dictatorship will be if I don't do what you dictate  If you don't make me do it then you're not dictating; if you make me do something I don't like then you can't be benevolent. Surely an oxymoron...

Benevolence has nothing to do with whether you like it or not...;)

Benevolence: desire to do good to others; goodwill; charitableness.

I know sometimes I don't like things that are good for me, but in the wider context....you're wrong.

Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't mean it's not good

There's nothing about a benevolent dictatorship that excludes democratic process such as referendums on national issues, so you can have your vote if you don't like my proposed policy, just make sure you vote for the right option or I'll have you shipped off to the camps:smt039

It's all for the common good...

that is why those people had to die. If it helps, don't think of them as people, think of them as live stock. Every farmers has to slaughter livestock occasionally.

Government is run on money, there is never enough money to go around, too many expenses. Solution remove the expenses: Kill the Poor.
