Leaking oil cooler lines, bodge needed
I got out of work this morning to find a puddle of oil under my bike, the larger metal line appears to be leaking from where it has a rubber cover over it.
I have ordered both oil lines from svspares.com but I really could do with using the bike for work. Will it be possible to make a temporary unholy bodge to bypass the oil cooler by connecting the shorter flexible hose across the oil outlet and inlet ports so i can continue to use the bike for a few days while i wait for the propper hoses to arrive from svspares? Has anyone ever tried this? |
Re: Leaking oil cooler lines, bodge needed
I haven't tried it on an SV, but I have done it on a couple of other bikes.
As long as you can make it seal it'll be fine, the Curvy had no cooler and isn't an oil boiler, so, at least in this cold weather I'm sure it'll be fine. |

Turns out the shorter hose is too short and the banjo bolts at too different an angle to make that work :(
Looks like ill have to get a lift to work for the next few days. |
