sv650 restrictor question
 

hi all, i am a little confused as to what restricter will fit in what bike, so i am hoping someone here can make things clear.

my question is.
I am going to be purchasing a sv650 soon (earliest year will be 2003, which are ecu restricted, i belive) will an ecu from a 2005 fit a 2003 or 2007 for example? or does each year have a separate ecu

A K3-K6 model has the ECU which has a single plug. See links Below for pictures.

K7 onwards has a different ECU as it has two connector plugs.

i am bit of a newbie and still dont know what k7 k3 is im guessing the 7 3 is the year.

so from what understand a 2003 - 2006 have the same ecu?

i am going to get a 2005 ecu from a mate and more than likley a 2003 or 2005 sv650, so im asuming this will be ok

Yes a K3 would represent a 2003 model and K7 would be 2007 model.
A restrictor from from a K5 would fit any model from years 2003 to 2006.
