Fiting new rear pads.
 

Just had a bit of a struggle fitting new rear pads. The lad I bought the bike from was not that hot on maintenance and had obviously avoided doing the pads himself. Took me nearly 2 hours to free the pins off so I could get the old pads out. Everything had a really good clean once it was apart and the pins, pad clips, shim plates and R clips all had a coat of copperslip before reassembly.
The dust seals on the pistons are in need of replacement so the caliper is going to have to come off and the pistons out sometime in the near future but for now I've put a good seal of white hydraulic seal grease around the pistons so they should be ok for a while.
I fitted a set of Goldfren pads in the back, I've used this brand before on my little gixer and they work and last well in the wet and the dry.

pins are renound for needing drilling to get out be happy it only took you 2hrs lol

I am quite pleased to have got them out dave, although I shal replace them when I strip the caliper later this year. They're not very pretty to look at any more!
I had a similar problem on my little gixer when I did the brakes on that and had to drill the pins out. Not a nice job.

That caliper has been used on a million different suzis... and they're all crap for seizing.
