value of a broken sv?
 

just a quick one, got a rattle in the top end of the engine, only rattles at 3.5k revs, no idea what it is... years mot 6 months tax, 26 k decent cond, stubby, w reg

( the one i was on the rideout with on sunday)

how much could i get for it as is??


and would it be worth getting the engine sorted??

Yeah, i reckon it would be. Think you do well to get between £600-700.

New engine could be picked up for between £200 - £300, i think. Someone will either confirm or refute that later.

Just got to consider the hassle of getting it home and fitted into the frame.

If i were you i'd consider lining up a replacement and, if you have time, sell your current curvy for parts?

Just a thought. Keep us posted with what you end up doing, hope you get it sorted.

EDIT: Have you thought about sorting out your current engine, or is it completely FUBAR'd?

well ive now got two broken curvys sat in the garage, this one starts and ticks over ok just has a rattle about half engine speed at 3.5k with or without load, other than that it runs ok still got full power etc. i only paid 600 for it when it was working so if i can get my money back on it then i could look at another bike

rebuild the two engines to get one working one if thats possible? and your riding in wrong if your breaking engines this fast

decided to sel this one as it is just to get it out of the way and im breaking my first one, then buying something a little more durable??

anyone fancy a 2001 curvy?? with a broken engine? lol
