Anyone here work in a bike gear shop

After my husband's little meeting with white van man last week it may be that if the van driver is found to be at fault that Stuart can claim for all his damaged clothing.

He doesn't have receipts - as quite a lot was bought as gifts when he passed his test, but it may be that he can get a shop to list replacement costs for everything.

Of course there may not be the exact replacement available so I was hoping someone here might either work for a bike shop or have a mate who does who could give us an idea of costs of the newer versions.

E.g. Sidi black rain boots, Draggin Jeans cargos, HG jacket all weather textile.

It would probably have to be on headed paper to satisfy the insurance company stating that Y is a direct replacement for X.

Yeah I am at HG in Bournemouth and they do alot of Insurance claims. Either I can or your local one will sort it out for you but do be aware that you will receive the cheque written to HG not you. So just make sure you get exactly the gear you want cos you wont be able to use the cheque elsewhere if you change your mind.

Just spotted this thread, good info to know as I'm trying to claim for my helmet & textiles after my off...

Amanda, do people normally bring you the damaged gear to look at before giving a quote for replacement?
