Phones 4 U experiences?
Specifically those that have bought a phone through them, but any experiences welcomed... What was your experience with Phones 4 U?
You might have seen my last thread about getting a phone on contract and after a lot of looking about it looks like the Major HTC desire shops (Orange, T mobile and Vodafone) are giving contracts on £30-£35 a month + insurance on 24 month contract (Vodafone seem the best from the internet, £42 18 month inc insurance). Think is with Phones 4 U I can get 18 month @ £32 a month on Orange with insurance... So a considerable saving id say! Only thing is I have heard that if you have issues Phones 4 U can mess you about sending you to the provider even though they shouldn't. Sooo please share any exp... Should I just spend the extra money for a better service or try and save till the bitter end? Cheers. |
Re: Phones 4 U experiences?
Got one for my wife years ago. Got out of the contract as soon as it expired as they did not remain competitive. and stupidly I had not checked that vodophone was fully available at home. She could only use the phone in one bedroom, not the lounge/kitchen or garden

Re: Phones 4 U experiences?
I wouldnt worry about getting an issue with your phone. It may never happen!
Ive always gone to phones4u for my contracts and they have always given me pretty much what I want. Id also always use them for ease of use. They do everything, I hate trawling through the internet for the best deals, they also like you found, are pretty cheap! I'd stick with them dude. |
Re: Phones 4 U experiences?
Can't stand phones 4 U. They took out two insurance policies on my one phone.
My details also got sold on after ticking the box for not, which lead to my bank account having money taken out of shortly following a company who brought my information from Phones 4 u. They hastle you from 9 months in on a 18 month contract to buy you out as that is where there money is. They don't listen to what you want, if there is a phone they get more profit from! Sorry other people may have better experience than I have, I've now gone back to orange which I did via the Carphone Warehouse and in future will be staying with either orange direct or CW. As the service is great. |
Re: Phones 4 U experiences?
Ok, mixed reviews. Hmph.
So what do people think to 18 or 24 month contracts? Id much rather have 18 month but it kinda looks limited... |
Re: Phones 4 U experiences?
I'm on 24 months, as it meant I got my line rental cheaper. (30 for 24 months rather than 40 for 18 months- it is the same cost overall if you work it out... but I get 2 years of rental paid)
Orange are different to the other providers in terms that on an 18 month contract you can upgrade at 15 months and on a 24 month you can upgrade at 21 months. other providers are a month before |
Re: Phones 4 U experiences?
Reason id prefer the 18 month is that I see the Phone being cheaper and well the line rental as well as ill be paying a little more but for a lot less time. I dont know why im so stingy but well I cant help it lol.
