Line charts in Excel - Help??
 

Ok, doing my end of year mileage. I'm supposed to write down my cars mileage on the last day of every month, but I don't 'cos I'm too disorganised and lazy!

I have all my fuel card receipts which have the mileage on them, so I could have filled up on the 26th of the month at 50400 miles, then again on the 4th of the next month at 50800 miles.

I also have my business mileage record, which tells me what mileage I did on what days.

I have this all in Excel and now have my mileage plotted in a line graph, x axis is date and y axis is mileage. I have the x axis lines crossing the graph on the first of every month, so where the plotted graph line crosses the 1st of the month, is near as dammit what my mileage would have been on that day.

Now I want Excel to output 12 points on the graph, into a table which tells me what my mileage was on the 1st of each month. Can I do it and if so how?

I could look at each month an pick an approximate half way figure but it may not tally up with my business mileage report, ie: if I did 390 miles before the 1st and 10 miles after, just saying that the car had done 50600 on the 31st would be b0ll0cks. Whereas the line graph can give me a more accurate estimation.
