Barrow in Furness - Relocation
 

Folks

a friend is relocating to B.I.F and will be working at the hospital there.

He has a wife and a young baby and they are looking for a place to stay. Rent first then buy.

Any suggestions for good areas?

If commuting a few miles is ok, try and get somewhere out of Barrow, nothing much good there really apart from submarine builders. I`ve worked up there and its a personal thing, i just dont like the place :)

There is a reason why most of my friends who have worked in B.i.F would rather commute from Manchester than relocate. It is a one horse town and rather unpleasant. so my recommendation to your friend would be to try and find somewhere outside of the town and commute

Dalton in Furness is the closest I'd go to Barrow.
I lived in Dalton for 7 years, Barrow is a toilet and the best thing is the red road out!
The hospital is on the outskirts so you don't have to travel into Barrow thank goodness.
Ulverston is probably the best place for a place to rent in that area.

+1 cracking place. I work in BIF alot and stay in dalton. I am considering a move there myself.

Dunno whawt every ones got against barrow yeah its not pretty but its not that bad

having lived in other places all over England and Europe I'll put B.I.F as one of the top 10 places I'd rather not live.
I'd rather live in Workington ;-)
