Moto Sliders + Curvy lower fairings

Will Moto slider crash bungs fit a curvy with lower fairings fitted?

Looks a bit of a tight squeeze, although it says they will with no cutting required on their web site

If not, are there any makes that will?

dont know about the motorsliders.

but the r&g ones fit. if you get the ones for the 650s.

thay have there own brakets and fit in the cut out bits in the farings.

I know this as i fitted the r&gs to mine the other week and i have the lowers. no cutting needed.
Just watch the top bolt on the right side. its steel in alloy so it snapped off had to drill in and get a left hand stud extractor on it then re-tap the hole. took nearly 2 hours in the end.

got the r&gs of fleebay

I have just fitted the R & G's on mine and they are great, really "meaty". The standard ones I had on before had rusted right through.

I looked at the moto sliders ones but with the pound being so weak they worked out slightly more expensive than the R&G's so not worth it.

You are a practical fella Maviczap, unfortunately I believe that you do have to cut into the lowers slightly to get the motosliders to fit. BUT, they are far better than R&G in many ways. I'm sure we could let you loose on your fairings and trust you to do a good job ;-)
They use the main engine mounting bar, well actually you take out the original and thread the new one and the sliders in its place, looks in your avatar like that particular item is hidden behind your fairing, have you a better pic, and I could tell from that.

Dizzy, I knew you'd be along to help. I'll post a close up pic. The main engine mounting bar is visible, although I know from you pics that the Moto sliders are quite a large diameter, so maybe there isn't enough clearance?

I'm not keen on cutting the fairing as I've just had it sprayed, perhaps I can grind a bit off the motoslider?

I'm quite handy with the old angle grinder :p:p

ahhh right I'm with you. Well they do grind down well, but I don't recommend my own version of doing this:roll: I wouldn't purposely do that just to make them fit either. errr there are people who have done the grinding of the panel with much success though.

Just so happens I have a replacement bung here, and it measure 4.8cm in diameter.

Dizzy, many thanks, I'll get my tape measure. I'm waiting for Moto Sliders to reply, although I guess they're still asleep.

If not R&G will do, as some crash protection, is better than none.:D

I didn't get much joy off them direct. You may be lucky! It was SV Racing Parts shop from ebay that always seem to get you further.
