Which GSXR forks etc? (Yet again).

ok so bike looks like this atm

http://i357.photobucket.com/albums/o...8042010401.jpg

im wanting some gsxr forks i know you need the forks, yokes, wheel, brakes, disks, mud guard, lock (to modd with sv one)

my main question is what stuff would go with k4 gsxr 1000 forks and yokes? what wheels, what brakes, and what would i do about having bars like i have atm on the gixer front ? drill the top yoke ?

what year is best ? price vs performance, i still want a stearing lock

cheers

Re: gsxr front end (again .. ) need advice on normal bars and what parts i need

Depending on how much your wanting to spend http://www.motorcycle-road-and-race.co.uk/catalog/motorcycle-lsl-superbike-bar-conversions.php
They could be an option.

Whilst I can normally see why certain mod's are done, I take it those above weren't planned, so what did you hit?

no GSXR top yokes can just be drilled as they aren't strong enough, so either you'd have to add material beneath and bond it in place or go for something like the Raask risers which clamp around the tubes.

bear in mind you'll also have to relocate the speedo take off (as the GSXR doesn't have a front wheel one), but then it looks like you'll be needing a new speedo as well anyway.

Generally getting the right brakes for the forks is the option to go for, but adapter plates can be made, but why make life hard :smt102, just about any sports bikes will be better than the SV standard items.

Cheers Mark.

Edit: Yeah the LSL conversions are good quality, but it's a whole top yoke and expensive .

ok cheers both, pat they are a bit pricey may as well just go with clippons and save the cash

and mark, i hit my dads car, well i didn't hit my dads car the bike did, i was just flung over the roof he had to emergency brake and so did i but back locked up and front slid then gripped flinging me off the bike

and yup speedo needs replacing will be getting a trail tech vapor

so i just need to go with every thing from the same year and bike well that narrows the choice down but ohh well

The price for the streetfighter yokes from Matt's shop are cheaper than the LSL ones above. Plus I think he still gives Org members a discount.

He's still on the members list as Matts Yokes

Are your clocks totalled or do the electrics still work? Reason I am asking is because (I think) I still have pointy naked clocks but the electrics do not work. If yours do and all you need is the casing, I could be able to help you out.

Blimey didn't do it by halves did you, all you needed was to knock your mum's pushbike over and kick the cat for a full house......:-s

I take it the forks are fubar'd, hence the GSXR front end idea? but if money is an issue and you're not full comp, then if they aren't creased you could perhaps get them straightened; likewise the yokes.

Cheers Mark.

Bit of an extreme way to have the front end modded Barwel! What were you doing reading his reg plate close up or what??

As for giixer front forks...errrrr no idea :-(

i have no idea if the clocks work stig but by the look of the back close up i would say not

forks are broken not just outside but in as well they have gone very soft and i have stif springs in them so no idea what broken inside.

another question about the gsxr/busa route will the sv master cylinder be ok ? or will i need the gsxr one
