Track day tyres, what do you use and why?

So what TD (or race) tyres do you use?

Compound?

Pressure (hot and cold)?

And on what bike?

Are you a one make/model man/woman?

I'm just curious really.

On the K6 750 I've found BT-016 okish for track and the 'Ring, they spin up a little on exits but are very progressive.

I really like the BT002/3 on the K6, using a type 4 (soft) front and a type 3 (medium) rear, pressure wise I can't remember back to last season

On the SV I used to find the cheap Metzeler Rennsport Roads pretty awesome, although that was only running in inters, a great tyre that was happy on the road too.

Hey Tim. You TD'ing as well as doing the Ring trips?

I used Racetecs K1 front K2 rear on 750, aiming for hot pressures 36ish each so started 28 rear and 30 front. Always used warmers but I found these tyres were not very good on road.

I took a new K10 GSXR600 out at Brands GP the other week on Diablo Supercorsas, pressures 31 rear 33 front. Absolutely superb even without warmers on and not one horrible moment on them.

I would stick with either of the above as I like the profile on the tyre. Only used BT002s once on a 2007 R6, very nice and stable but for me I didn't like the turn in so much but that could have been the bike too!
