GSXR front end question, (again).
I have a 1997 srad 750 front end and it all seems to fit my sv nicely apart from the head bearings what do i do about those?
|
Re: fork swap
twf website iirc
twin works factory |
Re: fork swap
or swap the stems and use original bearings, which is what i did
|
Re: fork swap
Can I just bash out the stems from the yokes with a hammer and swap them over?
|
Re: fork swap
no you'd need to take them to an engineering place or someone with a press as it takes about 5-7 tons to push them out and put them in plus the sv stem will need pinning into teh gsxr yoke, depending on labour it will probably be cheaper to buy the bearing from TWF as IIRC its about 50 quid??
my stem swap was free so i worked out financially well to do it  |
Re: fork swap
OK,bearing from TWF it is,thanks.

Buy that. Put the hammer down (you will not hear me say that much in this context!) |
Re: GSXR front end question, (again).
And now the srad rear shock wont fit because of the battery box...

Re: GSXR front end question, (again).
They don't, you need to space the undertray down from the subframe an inch or so and chop the back of the tank hinge off IIRC
