Custom project - Duck of Death!!
So a while ago at the Soho Hell Pizza night (really must get down to another one of those soon!), I picked up a Devil duck who's been my top box mascot for a while.
I was discussing with some friends on how to mod him to make him double as a visability aid and I was thinking luminesent paint on the eyes. My mates have sold me one better and we are going to get Ultra bright red LED's installed for eyes :) Anyone here know enough to advise how easy this will be to do and what I'll need? I'm guessing 2 red LEDs, a fuse or resistor of some form, battery, some form of soldering or wiring kit?, and some hot glue to re-seal the duck post surgery? Oh and some kind of switch... Will submit photos in a mo ;) |
Re: Custom project - Duck of Death!!
Two red LED's wired in series (anode to cathode)
A current limiting resistor ( min. value = 12000 / LED current in ma) Plenty of hot glue and heat-shrink sleeving A connection to tail-light circuit (it's already got a fuse) |

If you have a Maplins nearby try something like http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?ModuleNo=2066 The more Cd the brighter. 2.8Cd is pretty bright. |

I'd be trying to wire it in to the brake light, if only for the giggle of an evil eyed duck glowing when you slowed down

Re: Custom project - Duck of Death!!
Sounds good,
I wasn't thining of that at first due to the duck being on a top box and away from the wiring but I'll see what I can do! |
