Radiator Grill

Im soon about to change my rad over on my sv650s as the old one has a hole in it but i was thinking of fitting a rad grill to the bike before putting it all back together to try and stop it happening again.

To get a break from the planning side of engineering at work i run the laser machine some days so i can cut pretty much anything i want out of metal does can anyone help me with sizing and info on where the rad grill's normally attach?

I dont know whether to go with the SV650 cut out in the middle or something more unique hmmmm.....

Any info would be a good help

Hiya

cheers for the reply,

What laser do you have i run a Amada Quattro 2kw 2008 model its not a bad little machine really.

I was thinking the same thing to be honest about getting one then replicating it with some changes.

I had all the cad training when i did the laser training so i can draw most things and anything i cant draw we have a technical department here who i could call in some favours to draw some bits for me.

Biggest cost is Stainless jesus the price of metal has gone through the roof its crazy money for a sheet now.

I also thought about doing kick plates etc but would pretty much be trial and error.

Do you do bending onsite?

Our company bought some prototype around 5 years ago and programmed by Floppy inserted into unit.. not had cad training, guy`s in the office take care of it and they use me when the guy that operates it is off. we buy large amounts of stainless steel so i would use cut offs, kick plates are on my mind too. yes we bend and form sheet metal and also have a big polishing department. would love a copy of your design if its for a k7 model.

I will let you know how i get on mine is for a curvy but im sure its not much to change it over to a pointy.

I can web ex in and use all the laser software when im at home so will do that probably, I have some little fun programs i can send you.

Little programs to cut out small lady figures, one has etched stockings and everythign on they pretty cool, and i had a wicked little program that cuts tiny tiny little mountain bikes out of thin stainless they are very cool.

Guess you would just measure your radiator height, full length with width included
