Insurance cooling off period

Not monthly paid or whatever, paid in full by debit card. Are you entitled to a full refund or can they charge you an admin fee?

Cheers

14 days normally just £15 or £25 admin + the percentage of time covered

Nope. As long as you've not made a claim (or got any pending) they must refund it all, less the admin charge.

They can charge you admin fee, but as to how much will vary from insurer to insurer, check your policy.

What if you're just wanting to modify the policy for another bike of the same cc?

There'd still be an admin fee usually.

Some will say there's an admin fee; some will not. I have used the line, "Well, I'm a loyal customer, but I'm also looking for value-for-money, and I think an administration fee does not represent good value, so this will affect whether I renew my policy with you."

if they don't waive the charge, I ask to speak to a supervisor and give the supervisor the same line. If they still charge me, I never renew my policy and I tell them why. The only way to force companies to change is to vote with your feet.

In my experience this method has been approximately 75% successful.
