Anyone done Donington circuit based training?
 

As my riding skills seems to have declined rather than improved im seriously thinking of getting some training, especially when im thinking of upgrading my sv to something bigger (not for power reasons but size)

They seem to offer quite a wide variety of courses, which one were you considering?
My view is slightly biased but I think the best training you can get for road riding is done on the road. Certainly track riding can help you hone a particular skill, especially braking and the confidence to be able to turn in on the brakes, but 90% of road riding doesn't involve riding skills, it's all about your ability to read the road and traffic conditions and anticipate what you need to do.

The track skills will stop you from stacking it when you get it wrong... the advanced road stuff will stop you from getting it wrong in the first place.

IMO do both.

Sounds good - If I had the money I'd do something along these lines, but I don't. Just as per previous posts, don't neglect road-riding skills. Try a Bikesafe, IIRC AIM is just over £100 for a years membership, and training. You usually have to put into petrol and bacon butties for the instructor. When I have a non-temporary job, this is probably where my money is going first!

Try and get to something like a police/ county council run cornering clinic as IAM and ROSPA do sometimes offer free assessments.
Then make your decision from there.
I'm in the process of raising the cash to do the the IAM as they have the biggest reperesentation in the north east

Tbh guys, i dont think my hazard peception or road reading skills are what the problem is, i have an inability to control my bike at speed, or think i do.
I need to know how capable my bike or any bike is at speed and / or while cornering.
I have zero confidence in my bikes abilty to go round a corner at speed keeping the line i want it to keep, i know its my short givings not the bikes.
If i can learn that on a track my bike will do x amount of speed round a corner, while on the road i know that if come maybe within 20 % of that limit i should be ok, given the right conditions obviously.
Its defo mental with me, if i had a youthful no fear attitude like i used to have there wouldnt be much of a problem i think.

Get better suspension, with bike wobbling about like a fat tart on a tricycle of course you won't have any confidence in it

Thats one of the issues Chris tbh, i have had a few wobbles and slides recently on loose stuff or going round bumpy corners and it just wrecks my fragile confidence.
I dont wanna upgrade the sv tbh as im thinking of a new bike, maybe tiger or sprint.
