tyre pressures
Hi all, recently done some testing at Snetterton on a track day, after a couple of sessions my tyres started to blue on the edges, is this due to wrong tyre pressures, i was running 28psi cold front and rear. Tyre warmers on when not on track.
cheers, Stevo |
Re: tyre pressures
What tyres and did you check hot pressures (straight off track)?

Re: tyre pressures
Hi, pirelli supercorsa diablo sc2,s , rear was getting to 34 front 32psi
cheers |
Re: tyre pressures
Bluing is normal after hard use. I should go away on next use
Front is about right, maybe 1psi too high but the rear can go lower. Is the rear tearing or is it wearing well? If its cold tearing (concenric curves towards the centre of the tyre) you could go down as far as 29.5 hot (1 psi at a time till the tearing stops). I doubt you'll be getting hot tearing at those pressures. How much do you weigh? C |
Re: tyre pressures
Could,nt see any tearing, i,m just over 12 stone with all gear on.

Re: tyre pressures
No wonder! My leathers weigh more than you! :)
Your tyres are fine! You might want to run them both 29 hot so you actually squash them onto the tarmac a bit! :D |
Re: tyre pressures
Cheers for your help, my next outing will be Silverstone in June so we,ll see how i go. Rookie minitwin 67.

Re: tyre pressures
The Supercorsa on my 560 blued to bugger after a trackday, and that was a combined rider and bike weight of ~180kg
