Moto GP at Lord's - help
I have just taken a call to ask if Lord's might be able to host the press conference pre-British Moto GP. I don't know a lot about it - though at least I referred to those taking part as riders and not drivers which is what the Meetings and Events exec was doing.
May have them in for a show round tomorrow so would anyone like to give me some background. I'm thinking that it would be good PR for Lord's but where does it tend to receive press coverage and which TV stations cover it? Sorry for my ignorance - I ride a bike more than I have time to watch others riding them. :) |

Re: Moto GP at Lord's - help
Races are usually covered in full on BBC and Eurosport, and are usually mentioned in the sports pages of all the nationals as well as the trade press (eg MCN and the mags)
In view of the fact that MotoGP is returning to Silverstone this year after a long gap, with a number of changes to the circuit , there may well be additional interest this year which might mean more coverage. Can you get me a picture of Rossi doing a burnout on the pitch ;) |
Re: Moto GP at Lord's - help
Eurosport and BBC cover the GP not sure about other countries coverage of it.

Re: Moto GP at Lord's - help
I suspect the event would be more like the F1 cars in London before the British F1GP, so the coverage is more likely to be contained to the specialist motorsport press than the race weekends full TV coverage. There would probably be a short segment in the bit where they give you a 30 second tour of the host country as well, and possibly in the TV sport as a filler item.
Oh, and your other question... they are professional sportsmen, so I doubt you'll be too disappointed. Thinking of the VIP tickets comment above, that might be something for the day of champions charity auction, which gets coverage in MCN on the week after the race. |
