Its a 57 plate, 5 door mrk 5 1.4 astra The car wont start all she is geting is a clicking nosie from the engine area when she tries to turn it over. im at work i have told her to phone my dad and get him to come with some jumpleads but she said the electric windoes and raido and stuff still work so i dont really think its the battery, plus its used every day so shouldnt be dead :| its just out of warranty too so i hope its nothing big. any ideas people i anit got a clue with cars(or bikes lol) , never owned one lol ... cheers Ant  |
Re: Car not starting
Radio, lights... small current
Starter motor... big current Battery likely, maybe not charging. Has it been stood or left with the lights on or something? |
Re: Car not starting
Has it got factory immobilser?
Could be that, check your battery though, a lot will power windows when almost dead but not enough to crank engine over. |
Re: Car not starting
could be the battery or the Starter. or a loose eath cable.

Re: Car not starting
If it is immobiliser then you would not get click from solenoid energising
|
Re: Car not starting
Vauxhall......nuff said.
If your only driving it a few miles each day the battery won't charge enough to replace the current draw to start it. |
Re: Car not starting
My guess is battery.
She's not left a satnav or mp3 player plugged in to charge or something daft has she? Without more than 'clicks' to go on, it's just a guess though. |
Re: Car not starting
was battery cheer guys shes just phoned me got it going with jump leads.
strange seeming as it does 30-40 miles aday unless she left the radio on or sumthin |
Re: Car not starting
could be start of duff battery syndrome
