Which Alarm System?
Hey guys.
Just wondering if anyone knows where I could get a decent, yet reasonably cheap alarm system for my bike? Always wanted one more for novelty than anything else, with the beeping when you lock it etc. Cheers |

fitted a few of these over the last couple of years and have one on my S4, not had a problem yet, come with a bike specific wiring diagram so easy to fit, unit about the size of a fag packet and a cool Blue led, has remote start but I don't wire that up, has the option to add other sensors if you want. Another plus is the company are London based and I've delt with them a few times and they have always been really helpful. Cheers Mark. |
Re: Alarm System
Cheers Mark,
wee question... is it easy to fit to the bike ok? like how long did it take you the first time? also, i have found that HAWK alarm quite a number of times, via eBay and also just internet searches, but never bought it due to not knowing anyone who had it, and haven't looked in a while so totally forgot until i thought hmmm that could be useful for Catalunya!! seeing as you recomment Mark I think I shall give it a purchase :) |
Re: Alarm System
because it comes with the bike specific diagram, it not only tells you what colour wires, but also where to find them, took about 15 minutes to fit to testing stage, then perhaps another 15 minutes to solder and heatshrink everything.

Re: Alarm System
awesome Mark, thanks very much... just hope they have a '98 FZS600 Fazer wiring diagram haha
what all needed soldered and such if you dont mind my asking? |
Re: Alarm System
basically the bridging of two circuits and two power cables, so 6 wires in it's basic lay out, the option is there to connect up the remote start and another alarm circuit if you want to.

Re: Which Alarm System?
Hey Mark.
Hawk alarm arrived today, hoping to connect it up within the next week or so, but was just wondering, do you connect up just the basic alarm system? so the 6 wires you say about would be batteryx2, earthx1, indicatorsx2 and ignitionx1?? or do you connect up one of the types of immobiliser too? |
Re: Which Alarm System?
I use two alarm circuits (ignition being one of them) which make up the 6 wires, in a basic setup the indicators aren't included, although I do normally use them (though you don't need to), I've wired and tried the remote engine start, but I don't use that part either.
Cheers Mark. |
Re: Which Alarm System?
ah right ok.
the wee booklet i got with it has the basic alarm which is + and - of battery, a wire to earth, one to each indicator and one to the ignition. just gota find the ignition wire on my bike and get it connected up soon. |
Re: Which Alarm System?
probably a stupid couple of questions here...
but how did you connect the green wire to the frame for earth on the bikes, and also to connect to the ignition wire did you cut and solder the ignition wire or what? sorry about the sillyness, but im a full noob and don't want to be messing anything up Aaron |
