Makes me sick... thieving beggars
Hi all,
About to have a rant, so bear with me! I bought myself my first ever brand new pedal bike the other week - nothing too flash or fancy - in fact the cheapest one they had in the shop. Anyway, had it less than 2 weeks when I chained it up with 2 locks at Kings Cross station and in the morning, gone. Gutted. Now what's even worse is I've just had my Visa bill through with the £200 the bike cost me still to pay on it. Theiving gets. Hope you get run over by a bus. Rant over, D |
Re: Makes me sick... thieving beggars
Sorry to hear about this. Was it not insured? What about your house insurance?
|
Re: Makes me sick... thieving beggars
Not insured seperately. Will try the house insurance and see what happens...

Re: Makes me sick... thieving beggars
there must be cctv cameras around that area. Have you reported it to the police?
|
Re: Makes me sick... thieving beggars
Yup. There's at least 1 camera right next to the bike racks. I reported it but they said as there would be a lot of CCTV to look through and as I couldn't be more precise about when it was stolen they probably wouldn't be investigating it further.
They gave me a leaflet on being a victim of crime though... that really helped. |
Re: Makes me sick... thieving beggars
Bummer! I can lean my bike against the side of a shop here and it stays there! Some people have no respect. With luck their next rock of crack is contaminated and they end up with lung damage. Next bike - spray it with rust-red primer and take the saddle with you!

Re: Makes me sick... thieving beggars
they are useless. I had my CBR125 nicked out of my back garden, rang the police and went looking for the swines (I know where they go). That was about 10.30pm. Got to the area where they normally rag it around on the park and there they were, rang the police told them I'd just seen them on my bike. They got to the park (allegedly they turned up) at midnight. MIDNIGHT :smt013 needless to say i was a little bit annoyed.
The bike only turned up because my missus (who works on the park) was speaking to a couple of park users and they said they'd seen a bike up against a building nearby behind some bushes. It was a mess - scratched to hell, missing plates, mirrors, petrol cap, indicators. Police went down and were shown a knife stuck behind a sign just above it - he grabbed it and said "we can't use it as evidence" then chucked it in the back of his car. The police round here are a disgrace Some good did come of it though - compo paid for my direct access and half of my SV :D |
Re: Makes me sick... thieving beggars
Bad luck dude. I've had so many bikes nicked its untrue. I stopped reporting them after the 3rd. police don't give a ****. Too much work I guess. far easier to nick people for speeding....or am a cynical ;-)
i got the same stupid leaflet too. I thought no I don't need counciling, I need my ****ing bike back! |

Claim on your Visa card - sure it's covered ( unlike debit cards )
