Northamptonshire
 

Wife just got a job in Kettering, we will be moving over that way.

Can anyone recommend nice villages or small towns in commuting distance on the north, west or south of Kettering? Don't really want to go further East.

What is the North side of Northampton like?

I've spent the evening looking at houses in our budget over that way, can get 4-5 bed detached with double garage and countryside views, whereas here we'd be looking at a 3 bed semi with a view of a bus stop. Definitely not staying in Solihull!

Check out the floor plan on this http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-...-15553905.html, garden room, study, and that bit next to the garage could easily be converted into utility room and my office. Needs work inside but it's the right house in the right location we are after. Trouble is I don't know what the right location is. A lot of biking to be done round Northamptonshire me thinks!

Not bad, im the same, with the possibilty of the wife getting a job in sheffield, we have looked at houses in similar price range, get loads for your money there.

Geddington. My father-in-law lives there (and we live nearby)- great little village. Stanion and Brigstock are nice as well.

No trouble -there's a nice house coming up for sale in Geddington on Newton Road - 3br detached with a nice big garden, also another semi listed now just a bit further up -both with a big paddock behind them.
