Buying advice please - SV650 'T' Reg, 13,000 miles
 

Dear forum members,

Your honest help and guidance, please.

A good friend is offering me first refusal on her treasured sv650.

Garaged for the last ten years, in amazing condition for a T plate, and with only 13,000 on the clock.

She hasn't ridden it much due to an arthritic left thumb, the poor mare.

I neither want to offend her for offering a 'way-too-low' price, nor see myself off by an 'over-the-top' offer.

A couple of photos are attached, for what it's worth. Please ignore the rather camp looking fat **** perched on it.

Apologies to the forum mods if I have inserted this thread in the wrong place, or if it is totally and morally unacceptable.

I appreciate any valuations given.

I would guess £1300 or so if it's in very good nick and well serviced. £1100 or so if it needs a load doing at it because of being laid up, if it was me I'd budget for full service and new tyres.

If I were you I'd wait for some other opinions too :)

I'd offer £900 or so and say how much work needs doing at it, but I'm from Yorkshire.

Andrew, Dave...................your advice is taken onboard. With gratitiude. You all seem to be coming in at around the same area. And Chris, Yorkshire man or not, I like your style!
Heading to North Yorkshire in mid-June for the Willowman Festival. Can't wait to take in the scenery oop there.

I paid £1150 for mine around october last year, T reg, 11,700 on the clock and mint. Best £1150 I've ever spent :p

I paid £1550 for my T reg sv650s, had done 12,000 miles and mint. looked at a few others cheaper, and a few pointys but this was the best i could find:cool:

I think I'm going to offer her £850 'mates rate', guage her reaction, then take it from there!
