Do you pay to park at work?

I work in a hospital and they're just trying to push through staff parking charges of about £18/month with no guarantee of getting a space. Just wondering what others pay if anything?

The trust I work for did a quick "hey, lets flog the rights to run the carparks, then we can offset it against our debt" and it's now a very sorry state of affairs. The charges start at around £1.50 a week and are on a sliding scale commensurate with salary / banding, although there's no guarantee of a space. (for comparison, in town is almost £3 a day, park&ride is £1 a day/per person)
Oh yeah, and the car parking operator upped patient parking costs mahoosively but isn't reinvesting (in stuff like tarmac instead of gravel in the staff carpark) coz it's only a five year deal. Which also meant the £10m-ish sell off cost had to be spread over 5 years, so it didn't get us out of the sticky debt hole anyway....

Fortunately, I'm not based on the main site so don't have to pay :-) Motorbikes do get in free tho, even have a dedicated tarmaced space right by one of the side doors :smt081

Yes, about £400 / year I think. Bargain mind, for airport parking.

City carpark. It recently went up from £5- £7 which was the line tbh. Reckons I'll be on the bike soon (free). Bike pays for itself that way really

Don't pay to park, but then only have a space 1 week in 5. The rest of the time it's a "he who gets there first wins" on the surrounding streets.
Alternatively, it's free parking and always a space when I'm on the bike.

currently pay about £2 per year, get all parking costs reimbursed, used to have to pay about £10-12 per day in south west london (on street parking) reimbursed of course, but every day i had to make sure i had about £15 in change in my wallet, now i don't have £15 in there full stop.
