would you move?
So your partner has the chance of a job that pays 5-7 grand a month but it requires the family to move three hours away. Your kids have just finished high school (6th form and gcses) so no problems with that and better prospects in the new place. You rent so no house to sell.
Do you move? |
Re: would you move?
too right I would move..! Its only 3 hours away from family, not 3 days.. and how often do you REALLY see the family anyway?

Re: would you move?
dont see any reason why not. Your kids might not be so happy to move as they will be leaving friends behind. They can make your life very difficult if they are not happy or involved in the decision. My daughter was not happy about leaving Scotland when we moved 2 years ago but she is really settled and happy, she is 17 now. Why does it require family to move?

Re: would you move?
I voted pack your bags. I've moved around a fair bit and I wouldn't say its done any harm.
However, you are the only one that knows your circumstances and how much you interact with family. |
Re: would you move?
Do they have any other jobs going ? :p

Re: would you move?
Ive been in Scotland for 14 months setting up a new company and its now time to take it to the next step. I need an office and address in Edinburgh to do it. Ive been living in digs up here for that time and digs are wearing thin. I take one weekend a month off to go home. For the price of the digs and the house at home we could be living in a 5 bed detatched farmhouse up here. Ive sorted out colleges, stables for the horse, places on the cricket team for the kids and a network of fab friends. Time to move?

Re: would you move?
Sounds like the move would leave you more time to spend with Mrs Berlin and the kids etc - I would say that is totally a no brainer!! Your family need to start coming first now - in terms of having your time.. Good luck with what ever you do.

Re: would you move?
it makes sense-even with the market the way it is , people in the south of england who have a modest home could sell and end up with the country house lifestyle that they dream of for the same money.Jump and take your chance cause you never know whats round the corner.
