Alarm location
Trying to figure out where to fit an alarm to my bike (K4), but cant find a decent location for the control box. Its only about the size of a cig packet but because of the daft design theres no decent space. Where do other folks have them ?
I noticed that if the rear subframe part was curved outwards behind the side plastics, and all the fuses/relays were underneath the front seat, the "boot" area would be at least twice as big, stupid design. |
Re: Alarm location
Under the rear RHS panel??
I've noticed lots of SV's have them there!? |
Re: Alarm location
Stuck to the inside of the coloured plastic around the SV650 sticker you mean ?
I did think about that, but my alarm has a shock sensor which are best positioned the right way up, in the middle of the bike, fixed to something solid. |
Re: Alarm location
Mine is under the pillion seat, however is a k9 so not sure if im lucky enough to have more space under the seat than yours??:-?

Re: Alarm location
Maybes, theres enough room on mine for a scottoiler and the toolkit, thats all. Pish design, lol.

Re: Alarm location
ah fair one my toolkit elsewere and as yet not fitted a scottoiler!!!

Re: Alarm location
My scottoiler is now elsewhere too, on the garage floor :)
And once I get a toolbox lid i`ll put that away too, but, i`d still rather have the alarm hidden out of the way somewhere and retain a bit of storage space. I mean theres tons of useless wasted space on the bike, might just have to stick the alarm to the plastics. Not ideal though as I prefer to do things properly with bolts etc. |
Re: Alarm location
Cable tied to subframe rail is usual place.
Personally I would not fit an alarm. |
Re: Alarm location
Mine is cable tied to the right hand side rear sub frame. Fits nicely under the bulge of the upper back fairing.

Re: Alarm location
Mine is located under the pillion seat, held on with a huge Zip Tie to the rail. I still have a lot of room for tool kit, side stand plate (for soft ground) and a big bar of chocolate when I go shopping!
I had mine fitted by my Dealer, but they screwed up the seat sensor and I had to glue it back on with Araldite in the end when it kept falling off! |
