Seat and Ar*e ache

Has anyone got any experience of Sargent seats? Are they any good?

I have a OEM gel seat and was just wondering if one of these would be better?

Sargent have more of an American following much like Corbin do as well , might be better off doing a Google search and see what they say on the USA forums

I used to have an OEM gel seat but then got a Sargeant seat off fleabay.
In my opinion it is more comfortable than the OEM seat - the OEM seat seemed to slope down to the tank too much, whereas the Sargeant has a flatter profile.
I still suffer from some aches and numbness but I think part of this is the riding position on the SV. Another option would be the Bagster seats but I think they are very expensive.

I threw an SV1000 seat on as it was harder and lowered my pegs , helped reduce but not eradicate soreness .

How did you lower your pegs?

Bought some rearset riser plates and flipped them upside down , you can also fit some Buell footpegs which will drop the position down by an inch

I get quite alot of **** ache with the standard seat, but your saying the gel seat doesnt help the problem that much?

It helps, but doesn't resolve the problem. To be fair the Gel seat is loads better, but I was just wondering if a sargent will make the problem totally vanish!

Ok, kl cheers for the advice, tbh most of the other alternatives do seem rather expensive unless found on ebay
