Recommend me a breakdown service

After another nightmare patience destroying experience with the AA i want to jump ship and im looking for a new provider, better equipt to respond to bikes.

im sick of the AA sending ill equipt monkeys or just having appaling respose times.

they have too many subbies, which is also why i left the RAC 2yr ago after 15yr. ive found both te AA and RAC patrols to be great but in the past 15 yr and maybe 10 call outs i bet ive only had their actual patrols 3 times the rest have been subbies who just turn up with a flat bed and no intention of fixing or finding the fault

so whos good for bikes then?, weve 2 cars and ive 2 bikes to cover.

All luck of the draw, whoever you're with, depending on where and when you break down, in my experience. I've had RAC, through Bennetts and when the recovery guy turned up, he said he knew nothing about bikes and the van was full of car diagnostic equipment i.e. no room to recover a bike. Would have had a second wait for a flatbed to be sent, if the bike hadn't got started.

Another time, with whoever Carole Nash use, I got a guy in a van who was a motorbike mechanic, had a van with bike ramp and fixed my problem in the back of the van...did have to wait nearly 4 hours for him to arrive though!

autoaid. its 37 quid a year and they just use local subbies! but its the same type of cover thats going to cost you over 100 quid with the rac.

I am with Carol Nash, not used the breakdown/recovery myself, but know 2 people that have used it a few times over the years without any issues.

They recommended it hence, I went with Carol Nash and have not looked back since.

Whatever comes with my insurance.......

Not fussed as long as i get home start and recovery, riding mostly in london, its about 30-60mins wait regardless of who you use.

Used the AA 3 times. puncture > told no way should i put 42 lb in back tyre had to make him.
locked my keys under seat >had to use his tools an do it myself.
friends breakdown > I had to to strip bits of bike so they could strap in on to a flatbed

I went with rescuemycar.com, but with their bike package. Good feedback on the org & the price was good too
