Got some fitted yesterday, to replace the avon vipers i had on.

All i can say is WOW! really really confidence inspiring. I was expecting them to be a little slippy especially running them in. they have changed the bike for the ebtter thats for sure. stable smooth and grippy. Im one very happy bunny! will report back as they wear!

Bet you're glad you swapped em before the GM now, Andy.

You never realise how average the old tyres are on your bike until you fit new rubber.

Look forward to seeing them in action in 9 days :D

yea me too. in all honesty after my little drop i just could not get confidence in the bike. from getting it i was asjusting everything going on the suspension to try and get it to "work" for me. i was actually going to drop out of the gm if this didnt improve things they were that bad!! glad to say things are improving hopefully ill be back up to it for the gm. If not ill hold people up but im used to that :)

IMO, the GM is a good place to get some confidence and good miles under your belt. No pressure to keep up, generally good road surface, lots of open bends, and other bikes to follow.

Just take your time and slot in where you feel most comfortable.:D

right there run in. Still really good in the wet. I would say they are grippier in the dry than the storms (ok different bikes i know and maybe the suspension has a lot to do with it?) although they have a different wear pattern on the sides (rougher) as opposed to the middle. I was wondering why this is (yes dont take the pee out of the chicken strips!!)

I would hope they are run in after that trip!

What makes you think they are grippier, just the different feedback or what?

on the storms i could slide the bike into the asda round about if i tried. i just canna do it with these (although its more than likely the bike) i have also seen virtually no reduction in grip from the vipers, infact i believe they actually grip better over a bumpy surface as the vipers could "skip" if i was winding it on mid corner. these just seem to drag the bike round.

Very happy. Will take measurements of tread but i didnt take any from the off so its for further reference only i guess?

If you ask rob he may actually have measurement of tread depth of new tyre. Then you know :)

ok rough centre tread measurement is 6.25mm REAR 4.7mm FRONT
so i have the following miles covered approx 1108 (over half of that is on the motorway! and appart from the glencore run its a commute really)
