Where to buy an engine - Kawasaki Z750S 2006.

hello all .

Ironically while I was on my way to part ex my bike for another i had a bit of a mishap . I was going from Bishop Auckland to Stafford to do the deal .I got onto the M6 about 11 am and proceeded south from tebay . After about 4 miles I heard and felt a large thump form the engine . I immediately lost all power and pulled in the clutch and coasted to the hard shoulder . I was in the fast lane doing around 100 mph at the time . When I came to a standstill I saw oil All over the place . The engine had blown . Upon the arrival of the recovery guy we discover a 4 inch hole in the bottom front right hand corner . Something has gone wrong inside the engine causing it to blow this hole in the side . It has been suggested that a conrod has snapped and/or the cam chain has snapped . Anyway , the engine is now completely useless . The rest of the bike is fine but i need a new engine .
Can anyone suggest a place to buy a good low mileage 2nd hand engine for a kawasaki Z750s 2006 (K6F)
If only the thing had held on for another 150 miles i would now be the proud owner of a Daytona 955i . Instead I am a depressed owner of a bike that doesn't work .
Any suggestions and helpful hint will be gratefully taken on board .

All the best.

Paul

Re: serious help needed .

Definitely sounds like conrod failure or something else catastrophic.

There are various breakers websites where you input the details of what you need and any breakers with parts in stock call you back.

When you've found an engine to replace it, take your engine apart and sell any intact parts. good way to recoup some money, complete blown engines are not worth much.

Commiserations. As Chris says that does sound like something bigger than a cam chain wich will tend to mangle the valves but leave the engine looking deceptivly good on the outside. The conrod sounds like a contender.

Obviously http://ebay.co.uk has to be a standard port of call nowadays, but I have had some luck using these breaker-brokers before: http://www.bike-breakers.info/

Best of luck mate!

Cant help with the engine but I am surprised to see the failure - I ragged the nuts off my Z750S K6F from 0-13,000 miles and had no problems with it whatsoever. Sorry to hear about your woes though.

Gutting. In an odd way though, better than you selling and then having to deal with this. It would look mighty suspicious. You had any luck with salvage companies? It's a popular bike.
