Feeling every bump in the road?

Since I brought my 650s a month ago I am feeling every bump in the road, big or small, is there a way to solve this? wondering if the pre-load is set wrong  Has anyone else had this problem? I am only a light fellow, maybe this has something to do with it?

Any thoughts welcome :D

If the preload is screwed right the way in you'll feel them more. Is the suspension standard? If so it's likely just the state of the SVs standard suspension.

Yeah it is a standard rear spring. Any way to make it more comfortable rather than buying a new one?

Is it the rear that's the problem?

It's an SV, the suspension was never that great to begin with tbh, mine managed the job but it's nothing next to something like the WP stuff on the KTM

I rode a standard sv back to back with mine the other day I thought I was riding faster than ever...looked down at the clocks and was doing like 50mph the things are so unstable!

if you are light, then you should be more towards the weight range that the SV sprung for as standard.

If somebody has twiddled with your suspension settings you might find thats the cause of the problem.

First off, reset the suspension to its standard settings ( I dont know what they are but somebody on here will be able to tel you ) and also check your pressures are correct in the tyres ( 33psi front, 36psi rear ) Then go and ride it again.

If your bike has done alot of miles, it may be time for a front fork oil refresh and you may also want to think about fitting a replacement rear shock as they do tend to loose their damping when then have a lot of miles put on them.

But start with the basics first and then if you dont know what you are doing, ask in your local regional section and see if anybody can recommend somebody you can take the bike to who can set it up for you.

The opposite can be true too. If you're bottoming out everywhere it will feel rather harsh.

Too much preload or too little will both cause issues.

If it's the front, it's possible the fork oil level is too high.
