indicator buzzer
Hi I was wondering if anybody can tell me how I can fit a indicator buzzer to my sv650s. As I keep forgetting to switch off my indicators. I already know how I can make an indicator buzzer but I don't know where this needs to be wired up to. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks in advance:) Andy |
Re: indicator buzzer
It would need to be a from a signal (obviously) that is common across both directions, so i would assume the flasher relay would be be best to start, connect it through a relay which will power the buzzer, unless you can find something which has something built on, unless its ridicously low current draw.
Should be easy to figure out. Or change your habits, i leave mine on sometimes but its through not being positive enough with pressing the button. What i do is as i come out of a turn i normally change gear straight after so press the cancel straight after this. HTH |
Re: indicator buzzer
Press to turn off even if you didn't indicate. Its just habit, if you do it after every turn/corner/overtake etc you'll eventually do it without thinking and wont leave them on.

Re: indicator buzzer
I have experimented with buzzers in the past on other bikes, the usual problem is getting something loud enough to hear at any speed at all without it being stupidly loud. Commercially available items sometimes have interrupts which stop it beeping when in neutral or with the clutch pulled in or brake on etc so you don't appear a complete twonk in town.
Simple way is a feed from each side indicator positive through a diode to the buzzer positive, the diodes stop the "other" indicator coming on when it shouldn't. Alternatively pick up a feed from the indicator warning lamp if it is easily accessible. |
Re: indicator buzzer
You need 2 diodes on your buzzer otherwise it will cause both sides to come on. Pick up the 2 indicator feeds, I think there is one black and one green.
Personally I would not bother. |
