Saw a worrying sight tonight......

On the way home, northbound on the M1 in the cage.

Across on the other carriageway, between junctions 13 and 14 was a Hayabusa, which had been wiped out by a Passat estate, bike was still in middle lane on its side and car was about 5 metres back. Looked pretty nasty.

To be honest it gave me a real reality check, don't know why, but it did hit home a little.

Will be doing that exact ride tomorrow night into London and again on Friday night, to be honest its given me a bit of a stir!

It reminds me why I never trust anyone in a cage, and the need to ride safe, that thought goes to all.

Hope the rider came through it.

All roads are dangerous but I hate motorways for this (and other deadly things). Be it car or bike.

Remember they are all out to kill us :(
Motorways should be safer but they arent, in too much of a hurry to get home 8 seconds early.

It's mainly the aggressive and unconscious(more or less) driving on motorways that worries me!

Lorry drivers regularly scare the **** out of me on the motorway, the way they HAVE to pull out in front of you so they dont lose that 1mph they are doing faster than the one in front.

As I say I do that journey every day pretty much, but something about that just hit home.

Cheers for the comments tho guys.

I've recently started noticing that more and more.
I know an overtake takes a lot of effort/planning/momentum for them but it's not so important as to be blatantly dangerous; almost lost my bonnet t'other day.

There was a biker killed in the Blackwall Tunnel this afternoon in an accident with a HGV. I don't know any more as I was working the Parking tax demo.

RIP Biker

Coming home tonight (Wednesday is bike night and I live en route to a very busy pub meet) and rode past a guy and his bike on the floor :( He looked OK, lid off, lying down but leaning up on his elbow looking v. pee'd off but not seriously injured.

Thing that gets me the most lately is the number of people on their phones whilst on the motorway. I do an 80 mile round trip every day and must see at least half a dozen people each trip, on their mobiles. When you turn and stare at them, they give you a look as if to say 'WTF?!'

Guy this morning, stuck in the outside lane on M6, 65mph traffic undertaking him whilst he's swerving all over the road. Could see he had his Sat Nav on his lap whilst trying to get it working/setup. GGrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I reckon i see at least 10 people a day on phones, mostly sales rep looking people in beemers, mercs and audis.
Do see a few builders on phones as well, one of my friends has been caught 3 times.
