The best way to remove an old gasket ?
 
Its Stuck to the clutch case? and i need the surface perfect to put the new one on

I use a stanley blade at a shallow angle, doesnt have to be perfect as thats the point of the gasket. However dont be taking chips out either.

i used the wedge end of a woodern close peg! worked well when sharpend regularly..and no risk of damge :) thanks anyway

Plastic plant labels work well on aluminium parts. On old steel engines I'd use the side of an old bevel edge chisel.
