Any suggestions for a new seat? K5.

Hi Everyone,

I have just done my first big ride on my sv650s k5 and my bum is killing me!
The ride was just over 250 miles and i had to stop around every 50 or so because of this.
Can anyone suggest a good replacement of the standard seat or a cover that will help ease my pains?

Thanks for your help:D

Adam

No it won't. I have the Suzuki OEM gel seat and yes, it is better but it does not resolve the issue. It gives my back side 90 miles instead of 50 on the standard.

I think I am going to go down the sargent route. I have not heard a bad report about sargent seats.

I can happily do consecutive 300+ mile days on the standard seat as can many others.

If you go down the gel seat route, it may be cheaper to buy a second seat and get inserts put in as Suzuki considerably upped the price of their accessories not so long back (unless you can find a used one, but the gel seats are meant to mold to you aren't they?).

send you seat off to get it repadded/gelled, cheaper than a new seat.
