Fitting handlebar grips?

bought these some time ago and just spotted them in the garage bottom drawer after i've just washed the bike, without the aid of a hose pipe i might add:thumbdown:.
thought 5mins and they'd be on. however i,ve no problem with the left its the right thats the problem. they wont fit over the plastic sleeve over the bar, whats the way forward guys????

Use brake cleaner to help slide the grips on. Also make sure you have the left/right grips on the correct bar.

Better to use hairspray, as it will help slip the grip on, then it sticks it in place
