What would you take back in time?

Following a pm conversation with another forum user I wondered what other posters would take back in time with them.

Me and the other poster were reminiscing about the bikes we grew up on and I said if I could return to 1979, when I was 17, I'd want to take a Yoshi canned GSXR1000 K5, an immaculate RG500 Gamma and a KTM LC4 with me.

What would you take with you, doesn't have to be bikes and you're not limited to times within your own previous lifetime?

A camera, some periods in history interest me. Particularly WW2 stuff, image the images you'd get with a modern DSLR on the D Day landings or from a Lancaster bomber over Germany etc etc.

Even to go around your local home town caputing it as it was then and then coming back to your own time and having decent images to compare it to.

I know it probably sounds boring, but I'd find it fascinating.

I don't think that sounds boring at all! I find that sort of stuff interesting too!

Id come with you cos that would be right up my street :p

Maybe take a barrett 50 cal sniper rifle with us to 'end the war early'.

Also a hd movie camera positioned in 3 locations on elm street (i think) in dallas texas in 1963 when kennedy was shot to put the conspiracies theories to bed.

Also, I know its abit morbid but modern cancer treatments back to 1978 when my dad died, cos he was cut off in his prime (52) and i would have liked to have spent a bit more time with him.

Ah, I forgot something - 1-piece leathers with kneesliders to wear on the Gixer. We all know how easy it is to knee-down a GSXR1000 on modern tyres, but at 17 it was nothing but a pipe-dream for me and my mates so I could really be 'the kiddy' with scuffed sliders and proper leathers. Back then we all wore jeans, green nylon USAF MA1 jackets with orange linings and Doc Martens. If we had a good job we had some gloves too.

I'd take back bill gates and make sure he was my best buddy.

+1 in peoples agreement with Fizz...that sounds amazing.

I'd have to think a bit longer to come up with my proper response, but for now, I guess I'd like to take back something simple that would make a massive difference, like electricity and see how people marvel at being able to sleep without 20 layers on at night and turn lights on and off with a switch!
