LED sidelights; are they road legal?

if i swap the standard w5w sidelight on my naked to a led unit, will it still pass mot?

Also if i add extra led sidelights, will i get pulled by the coppers?

Speedy Claire had LEDs in her pointy, passed at least 3 MOTs with them in.

led sidelights are legal (audi have run them since 2008ish). Full LED lights are illegal (with the exception of audi again on the R8 as a £1500 option)

Depends on the colour of them. They have to be white. (Maybe yellow would be OK :???:, but blue or green or red etc. should fail an MOT, unless the tester lets you off with it)

yes they are legal. and no you wont get pulled for them! so long as they make a nice strong orange light it will pass. how the light is prodused dos not matter.

i have LED onces with clear lences.

99% of the time you will have to eather change the flash relay for an LED flash relay. or just do like it did, just add in a resistor into the indicator cercit. dos the same thing and very cheap £0.0p :P. if you do add a LED flash relay make sure its for Suzuki. others will have diff resistance amounts and will stop them working or they will just flash very fast.

(with the exception of audi again on the R8 as a £1500 option) law dos not work like that..

full LED lights are not Illegal at all.. how ever there are alot more regulations on there construction/use and alot of cars have LED lights ie main and dip. Audi was just one of the 1st to put them on a road car.

they are not in full approval for the eu but are in the states.

The exemption was given to allow for the rapid development of the technology. Most new cars use halogens or HID's or a mix of the 2
