My SV650

Passed my test on the 30th of June, picked this one up on Monday evening. :D Clocked up a couple hundred miles already! Despite the weather.

Today: fitted a belly pan, repaired the mirror and removed the baffle from the exhaust.

What do you think? It's an 01 plate, Bought with 12k on the clock and a FSH, it's sooo nice to get off my death trap Chinese import 125 and onto this!

First evening out was quite eventful. Realised how ****e my £50 BOX helmet was lol, the wind noise is terrible and it doesn't fit proper because above 60 it feels like its going to fly off and my vision goes all blurred. Also I Pulled a wheelie by accident and crushed my family jewels against the tank as I panicked to get the front back down lol, had to pull over and almost puked.

Future plans for the bike are to replace the tank pad with something more tasteful, a rear hugger and some fork guards, apart from that just keep up with the servicing and maintenance. I was going to do most of it myself but not sure if it's worth taking it to the garage just for the stamps in the service book? To add to the resale value, what do you think?

Also could you recommend me some good cleaning products please, so far I have:

muc off spray - crap
Autoglym motorcycle wash spray - pretty good I thought
Fuchs Silkolene titanium chain gel - I like it because It's white and you can see it so you don't miss any, seems to be good doesnt fling off.
Muc off chain cleaner - done the trick
muc off chain lube - crap compared to the fuchs I thought. Very sticky but its transparent and a can doesn't last as long.
Muc off spray on polish stuff - Suppose to leave a waxy coating, I don't think it did anything lols

So need a decent polish really, also has anyone tried that autoglym metal polish, i thought that would be good for the wheels/frame ect

needs crash bungs and braided hoses... another good mod is to fit an alloy brake torque arm from a SRAD, TL, busa, for some reason the std mild steel part is a magnet for rust

Made of Win,

Enjoy the Bike

edit:

Muc-Off Degreaser is awesome, spray on, rub with a brush and rinse off with water, One side of a wheel takes 30s.
Turtle Zip Wax Wash is quite nice, leaves a bit of polish so you can buff it up to a nice shine after
Autoglym Resin Polish is nice, take a bit of time a you can get an awesome shine and it lasts a while too.

Thanks I will consider these mods - Crash bungs, are the R&G ones universal? Saw them today for £70, seems a bit steep for what they are but I suppose it can save alot of damage. Braided hoses good idea. I will fit them when I'm in need of a brake service/fluid change.

LOL it wasn't funny at the time! I lean over the tank under heavy acceleration now...
Thanks for the recommendations, I will definitely get some of that Autoglym resin polish, see how I get on with it.

Nice looking bike, I'm sure you'll love it.

I have a suspicion your camera is set to tungsten white balance which is why all the pictures in daylight come up slightly blue.;)
