Refitting naked headlight?
I bought a 2001 SV a couple years ago which had a windshield that had been previously installed by original owner. I never really liked so the windshield so this evening I decided to take it off. After unscrewing the headlight bolts the windshield came off without any problems, however when I went to screw them back in they wouldn't catch. I'm thinking there must be a nut on the inside of the headlight that fell when I unscrewed it. Does anyone know how I can open the headlight to get the hardware (if that is the issue) so I can tighten the screws again? Thanks for your help.

Re: head light screws
I take it this is a naked? If yes then the headlight is held into the shell with two cross-head screws, one at the bottom left and one at the bottom right of the shell, remove them and lift the headlight rim from the lug at the top of the shell.
In the shell you'll, (hopefully), find two nuts that should be on the inner ends of the bolts that hold the shell to the brackets. I'd put them back there. |
Re: Refitting naked headlight?
Thanks for advice! I followed the instructions and had it screwed back on in 5 minutes. Much appreciated!
