Kawasaki ZX7R 1997 in the best colours ;-)

Right, muggins just accidentally won a Blade on ebay and having just sold a bike to make room for my camper van parts, I now need to sell another.

The bike is a 1997 P reg ZX7R with 21500 miles on the clock. I purchased this in November 2008 with 18700 miles on the clock and spent 3 months stripping and rebuilding it (photos available) with many new parts as follows:
  • Full stainless exhaust system (£190)
  • Scorpion Titanium race can (£150) - and I'll include the old viper can with that is E - marked
  • Set of wavey disks from (£160) - the disks in the photo are the old ones
Renthal chain and sprocket set (£130)
  • Rebuilt clutch slave cylinder
  • 6 pot callipers from a Busa with very low mileage and new pads (the busa had the coated pistons to prevent the common seizing problems with the tokiko 6 pots). These are still like new (£120)
  • Full set of Goodrich braided SS brake lines front and back (£60)
  • Colour matched under tray
  • Crash bungs
  • Bridgestone BT016 tyres which now have about 1000 miles and one track day on them.

Other work included:
  • Rear calliper rebuilt
  • valve clearances and carbs balanced
  • rear suspension linkage stripped and rebuilt + swing arm bearings checked and re-greased
    Head bearings greased and adjusted

The bike is currently fitted with £600 worth of Ohlins rear shock, professionally set up for my weight (12 stone). I have only done at most 1000 miles on the shock, most of which was just pooting about Oxfordshire and Worcestershire.

In terms of cosmetic conditon, the bike I would say is good. I don't think it has ever been down the road, but it is showing signs of use, so there are a few scratches on the plastics and swing arm. There is also a sallow dent on the tank that has not broken the paint. The only repair to the plastics is on the underside of the biek to the RH fairing lower, where it looks like someone has hit some debris in the road - the panel has been fibre glassed and you can't see the crack unless you are lying on the floor looking up at the bike.

I have always wanted to own a 7R and love this to bits, but I can only have so many toys and The blade came up for the right price. I had intended to keep this bike for a while, hence all the work that was done on it.

Price is £1500 for the bike with standard shock or £1800 with the Ohlins unit (I can get £400 for it if I sell separately). Sensible offers welcome!

I will add more photos when I get home.

Cheers
Phil

Ah, sad times! I still miss my old 7r, even after I got my TL. Not that I'm trying to put you off or anything... These bikes are awesome, I can vouch for that.

No problem mate. I can wait if you are really interested, but obviously if not I need to shift it through Biketrader etc. Er, I have just got rid of one Dullville thanks, I don't want another quite yet ;-)

I'll give it some more serious thought. I realise you don't want to miss the summer selling season. Will speak in a day or 2.
