Aftermarket Seats - what's available.
 

Considering buying an SV 650 as my 1st big bike after passing my DAS a couple of weeks ago. I will also be going on a tour of Europe for a month next year, just wondering, how comfy is the seat on an SV for touring, what are good aftermarket seats to put on an SV and how much do they cost?

Also, what other additions to the bike are a good idea for touring? Is it easy to adjust things like pegs and bars or not? Does it make a lot of difference having faired or unfaired to these kind of things?

Depends on you backside to be honest amongst other things. Suzuki did a gel seat which many say is a big improvement over standard and CORBIN also do their own. Pegs cannot be adjusted without adding extras or buying fancy replacements. Bars are not adjustable as standard, so again extra spending required. Faired will make touring easier by lessening the wind blast.

I find the bike comfortable enough but when you're just starting out, expect strain in the wrists / arms and possible back. Not to mention a sore bum - same as bicycles that way.

Get a gel pad inserted in the standard seat by someone like Tony Archer or Viking saddles

If you buy a naked, then you don't have this problem.

To lower the footpegs, for a more comfy position, this is the cheapest option

If you're going to change anything change the seat or get a gel pad inserted
