Dales & Lakes ride (Amazing what a bit of photoshop can do)

Went out 'for a spin' on Saturday while the nice weather was holding out, and inspired by Melodys pics the other day headed for the Dales.

My camera died the other day so was stuck with the quality camera in the iPhone........:smt044 Still haven't enough self control to stop and take many pics but did take a few

Headed to Gisburn up the A59, left onto the A682 and after a tongue lashing from a copper (I did come wheelying over a crest to find him standing in the middle of the road, attending to a collision involving 2 bikes :() I went at a more sedate pace to Settle then the brilliant B6479 to Ribblehead

And then at a not so sedate pace upto Hawes, I didn't remember the dips that had me completely airborne!

Then over Buttertubs to get up close and personal with some sheep

I'd made it to Brough and heading for Middleton in Teesdale along wooly inhabited roads before I saw this

Thanks for the heads up! I took these whilst admiring the scenery on the B6276 & 6277 before the blast upto Alston. The B6277 has to be one of my favourite roads, so fast and flowing. Exhilirating when youve got an RSV4 and an S1000 breathing down your neck

Headed to Hartside and stopped to resuscitate my @rse. Then headed down following a lad on an RS125 getting his knee down on nearly every corner :notworthy: to Penrith and over to Kirkstone Pass

At this point I sort of lost my senses and instead of heading home I headed through Kendal onto the A685 to Kirkby Stephen. Very fast section with great views of the errrrr M6! All this added another 20 miles just so I could ride the A683 from Kirkby Stephen to Sedbergh and then down to the Bridge. And its so worth it :D after the bridge it was the usual way home, still avoiding the fast route in favour of the back roads.

All in all was a great days riding and proves just how ****ing uncomfortable my ninja can be! To be honest, i've been slightly falling out of love with it after getting the SV back on the road. The grunty engine and the higher bars reminded me how much fun you can have without having to be totally committed. But still when youre in the mood, you can't beat being a member of the redline brigade!

Oh, day came to 8.5 hours and 305 miles \\:D/

Now i'm off to buy a gel seat

Dave

Well the wife/daughter/jack russel made me go up Rivvy yesterday. Yes up the bloody hill, on foot.

They said something about working on my coronary what/where ever that is?

Still glad to know this fat middle aged git can still out walk the gym every week daughter.

I had to cringe on the way down, a dog tried to jump the wire fencing and got his rear legs stuck, yelping like mad. As I went to help he pulled free in panic and jumped it again. Poor sod couldn't decide which rear leg to use so alternated for a while.
