Cancer Charity Ride out tomorrow
It is the annual Bra run tomorrow in Bridgewater (yes, that smelly dump on the M5!) and Wifey and I are planning on going along. We only found out about it today, so I thought I would post it on here because I think that it is a good cause and an excuse to have fun on the bike too.
They have their own web page here at www.bra-run.co.uk and a Facebook group too. If any one is going along and spots us, do come and say hello and force me to over come my terrible shyness! :smt088 The wearing of bras is not compulsary. :D |
Re: Cancer Charity Ride out tomorrow
well that was fun! We left at eight this morning and got half way to Bridgewater before fueling up. It was at this point that I realised that I had dropped my purse, cur frantic searching and then a rapid blast home, only to find it under my computer chair! So there then followed a quick blast back to the garage to meet Carol again and proceed to Bridgewater. Once safely parked up at VJ super bikes, I innocently asked where the nearest ATM was. So I was back on the bike and heading over to the supermarket district to get some cash. Only the centre of Bridgewater has major road works and diversions every where which caused me to get horribly lost. I eventually found the ATM and headed back to the bike shop, only to get further lost. In the end I gave up and filtered to the front of a traffic queue and asked the young lass driving the micra. I was less than half a mile from the shop!
The run was the first time I have ridden as part of a group, but the group quickly fragmented and we ended up at the back with the other stragglers before losing the main group altogether in Cheddar. After that we decided to make our way back to the shop and ended up with a few other people following us for a while. Anyway, I have a little badge to sow onto my jacket now that says Bra Run 2010 and have had a really good day out. I rode my SV and Carol rode the XJ and I think that we had a lot of fun. Riding with a pack of bikes like that though was something else, all I could see was bikes, it was just such a shame that the leaders shot off so quickly leaving the last thirty or so bikes to fend for themselves. Right, I am off to sow my patch on, I feel like a proper biker now. :D |
