Put your mouse cursor on the screen and it will follow it about. Double click on the screen to deposit insects there and it'll eat them and you can also pick it up with the left mouse button and drag it about.

I had a real one as a pet and she spent a lot of time just quietly sat in her plant pot in her tank. However, when ever it was feed time, she was lightening fast and a fantastic predator, truly beautiful to see. She was not so keen on being handled though and once her fangs got to an inch long, I stopped handling her because she became skittish and aggressive, something her breed were well known for.

A truly interesting and beautiful animal, but not one I would call a pet. My cat is a pet, he has cuddles, lets me stroke him and purrs to let me know when he is enjoying the attention. The Tarantula was always silent, often trying to escape from her tank and occasionally would even rear up at me when it was feed time. Not for the faint hearted, she could move faster than I could remove my hand from the tank and with potent venom could deliver a painful bite and escape before I could move my hand. I loved her dearly though.
