Is using a beacon lap timer allowed?

As above. Is it Ok to use a beacon lap timer during the racing with the ACU and SACU.

It'd be very handy to see where my faster sections of track are and for testing new lines.

Yes. Totally OK.

I've got an Otto lap timer on mine, only problem I've had recently in nobody switching a beacon on!

Mind you I forgot to try it at the last meet, so might have been one there. You can set them up to mask out signals if there is more than one beacon set up, however from what your suggesting you probably want beacons at about 4 places around the track to check sector times.

Most folk tend to put one near the start finish line, I would have thought the the esses would be a good place for one.

Hi T

Any chance I could borrow it for one session or race? :) Shy Bairnes get nowt! :)

I'm looking for a 1.06 now and I've got a couple of ideas of where its going to come from. If I put all of those ideas into a session I can see in real time where it makes a difference and choose the best of the alterations.

I think this is probably the best value for money I could spend on the racing now. Rider improvement :)

And I'm thinkling the best place for the beacon is the start of the concrete apron before esses 1 so I have a "line" to cross.

I think I've found a second in bike changes (more rider sag at the front, more rebound damping and ride height at the rear, different gearing meaning less gear changes and a smoother line with less on/off power changes. I'm looking to clean up my line and fluidity.

... and then the rest is up to me. :) less Walrus, more Spidermonkey :)

I wish Special K didn't taste of Cardboard! I'll get into that red dress yet! :)

Who's T? Ant / Anteater isn't short for Anthony :smt002

Anyways, you could have it for the Saturday racing no probs, I could chuck it in a jiffy bag and post is doon this week and I could get it back on the Sunday

Downside is I dont have a beacon - I need to rely on somebody putting one out. I mount it on a little bracket on the top yoke, easy to put on with tie wraps with the sensor sticking out the side under the tank. Gimme a shout if you want it.
