part exchange and replacement question
Hi
Been offered 1100 part x for my sv650sk5 with 55k miles on it , recon it's fair considering the mileage ? got my eye on a vfr800 , its alot older (1999) ,but is a good price and after riding a friends 2000 vfr really like it , for a commuter and pillion bike ticks alot of boxes for the cash and fits me well as I'm a big bloke Anyone know of any known problems with the viffer ,apart from reg/rec & I believe stainless exhaust was not on till 2000 + Also any one know what Midlands superbikes are like as never dealt with them Cheers Steveg |

I've got the VTEC model and that's a bit of a Marmite thing (like it or hate it). The general view is that the late fuel injected models are best, though I'm happy with my VTEC.
One thing to watch out for is the expensive services at 16k and 32k which include a check on all the valve clearances and takes the best part of a day to do properly. If the one you're looking at is between 16k and 20k miles check that this service has been done. Just my thoughts, Keith. |
