Problem Reinstalling Windows 7
Tried to reinstall windows 7 on the brother in laws laptop, when he first got it I made backup DVD's using the Acer recovery management program.
When I use the Acer recovery management restore to restore to factory defaults I get this error message: "Hard drive configuration is not set to factory default, restore aborted". So I thought I would just do it the old fashioned way and boot up from the DVD and got the following error message in Windows boot manager: "Windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. This error can be caused by unplugging a removable storage device such as an external USB drive while the device is in use, or by faulty hardware such as a hard drive or CD-Rom drive that is failing. Make sure any removable storage is properly connected and then restart your computer. 0XC00000E9 An unexpected I/O error has occurred." Im pretty sure the hard drive and CD drive are fine because there is no problem with them. Anyone got any advice? |

You will need to install the SATA drivers for the hard disk.
